How It Works

What to Expect From Custom Orthotics

Your feet are the base of your posture. When the arches collapse or roll, the knees, hips and lower back pay for it. We scan your feet and order orthotics made to your shape, so the support matches the way you stand and walk.

From the Ground Up

Foot Problems Orthotics Can Help

Your feet absorb impact with every step and set the angle of your knees, hips and pelvis. When an arch collapses or stays too rigid, that small change travels up the body. It is a common reason for knee pain, hip strain and low back pain that never fully settles.

  • Flat Feet

The arch collapses and the foot rolls inward (overpronation), stressing the ankles, knees, hips and lower back. It often leads to plantar fasciitis, shin splints and joint pain.

  • High Arches

Too much pressure lands on the heel and the ball of the foot (oversupination), so shock is poorly absorbed. This can cause forefoot pain, ankle instability and balance problems.

  • Knee and Hip Strain

Overpronation wears on the inside of the knee and changes how the legs rotate, which can tilt the pelvis and strain the lower back.

  • Foot Conditions

Plantar fasciitis, bunions, corns, calluses and neuromas often trace back to poor foot mechanics.

Your Orthotics

Fitting and Caring for Your Orthotics

We start with your spine, nerves and foot mechanics, not just your shoes. If orthotics are right for you, we scan your feet so the support matches your arches and the way you walk. A little care keeps them working longer.

  • Take them out of your shoes at night to air out
  • Keep them away from high heat
  • Wipe them with a damp cloth, and never soak them
  • Bring them to follow-up visits so we can check the fit

Questions

Custom Orthotics Questions

Ask us anything at (360) 659-8464.

How Are Custom Orthotics Different From Store Insoles?

Store insoles add general cushioning for an average foot. Ours are made from a scan of your feet, so the support corrects the way your own feet move.

Do Orthotics Realign Your Body?

They support your feet so your ankles, knees and hips line up better when you stand and walk. They do not adjust the spine, so we pair them with chiropractic care when your posture needs it.

How Much Do Custom Orthotics Cost?

The cost depends on the type of orthotic and your insurance. Call (360) 659-8464 and our front desk will go over the price before you decide.

Do Orthotics Help With Lower Back Pain?

They can. When the feet roll in or stay too rigid, the legs rotate and the pelvis tilts, which strains the lower back. Correcting the feet takes some of that stress off the spine.

How Long Do They Last?

Most last one to three years, depending on how much you wear them and how active you are. We check them at follow-up visits and tell you when a pair needs replacing.

Will Insurance Pay for Custom Orthotics?

Some plans cover them and some do not. Our front desk can check your plan for you.
